Sofia Vergara Tells Kelly Clarkson To “Shut Up” After Host Downplays Her “Griselda” Makeup

Sofia Vergara is receiving a lot of praise for her performance in the new Netflix miniseries, Griselda, which is a fictional dramatization of Griselda Blanco’s journey from businesswoman to the “Godmother” of Miami’s drug empire.

It’s a meaty role for Vergara, one she doesn’t get to play that often, so she’s obviously very proud of her work.

And during a recent interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show, she got a little heated when Clarkson tried to say it didn’t look like she had to wear a lot of makeup to play Griselda.

“It looks slight. You know what I’m saying? Like, when you look at you, it doesn’t look…” Clarkson said, before Vergara cut her off and said, “No, Kelly. It was hours!”

But Clarkson continued to dig herself into a deeper hole, replying, “I’m sure it probably took time, but that slight change completely changed [her] being.”

That’s when Vergara playfully snapped, “It was a wig! Shut up!” she responded with a laugh, before adding, “It was a lot. They did a lot to me. It was teeth, it was wig, it was nose. It was plastic from here to here.”

At that point, Clarkson got the hint and decided to change what she was saying slightly…

They did such a good job that it looks seamless. You just look like a different — like, you literally look like you could actually just be this person in another movie. You could have two careers.

Vergara seemed to like this more.
