Matt Lauer goes for the $70 Million Dollar Deal

I used to think Tiger Woods had the best gig on the planet, but every day that award goes to someone new.  Today’s front runner is Matt Lauer.

Now that Meredith Vieira is leaving, Matt is seizing the moment and renegotiating his contract.  Travelling Matt wants a 3 year deal worth $70 million.  That’s La Bran James cash!  The difference is, Matt works only 3 days per week.

His request is  not that outlandish because he is currently at $17 million.  Matt is the face of the show which earns $500 million per year, so paying $70 million from $1.5 billion sounds like quite the bargain.

There were rumors that Matt has also been talking with Katie Couric about partnering with her  on her syndicated talk show she is planning on in 2012.  Matt has denied these rumored, saying that he loves what he does, where he does it, and he will be loving it even more with a big phat raise!
