Rebecca Black’s Video Removed From Youtube after 167 Million Views!
There is a God! ….and he struck down and removed “Friday” from Youtube!
After 167 million views the Rebecca Black video has vanished!
I know some of you are pulling you hair out wondering “Where did it go?”
Well things aren’t all nicey-nice with Ark Music and Ms. black. Ark Music Factory is the company who “made” Rebecca the star that she is. They wrote and produced the internet hit for just $4000.
The dispute came when Ark Music Factory started to charge $2.99. Let’s face it. No one expected Rebecca Black’s video to blow up like it did. Everyone was ok with Ark Music using that success to bring in more clients but charging people for a song they don’t even own? That’s where enough was enough.
I didn’t even know Youtube had rentals, but Ark Music started to charge $2.99 to rent that crappy video!!! The video had over 3 Million dislikes!! Maybe the most dislikes on Youtube.
After you pay the $4000, you own the rights to the song and the video which means Rebecca can pull it from YouTube because it’s hers.
YouTube made a statement regarding the issue:
“YouTube takes copyright infringement very seriously. When we receive a complaint alleging that a video infringes another person or company’s copyrights, we remove that video. Users who believe that a video was removed in error can appeal the copyright takedown.”
Ark Music says they were blindsided by the takedown!
“We’re disappointed, having been in good faith negotiations with Rebecca Black and her representatives for months regarding any open issues. There’s been an ongoing, open dialogue with our company. So we were blindsided to get a Take Down Notice — with no notice — alleging copyright infringement instead of a call or email from Rebecca’s representatives.”
In case you are Jonesing for the video – I have included an adequate replacement. Why not – it is indeed Friday!
