Lionsgate Signs Charlie Sheen to a New Cable Show!

I knew it.  It was just a matter of time before Charlie Sheen got signed.  What I didn’t predict was that it was going to be “Two and a Half Men” rated “R” for “Racier”.

Lionsgate TV is the proud parents of a bouncing baby project, complete with a “Winning” Charlie Sheen.  Networks are now up and at ‘em trying to bid for distribution rights.  They know, that this can be huge!!

A source told Radar Online,

 “Charlie has inked a deal with Lionsgate Television to create and star in a new sitcom,” an insider tells the entertainment site. “Charlie’s character will be very similar to the one he played on ‘Two And a Half Men,’ however the show will be a lot racier. Networks and cable are bidding on the show right now, with TBS being the front runner.”

Just consider that for a moment.  Charlie sheen will be creating the show, it will be on cable and he will also be the star.   Combine that, with the fact that he now more then ever wants to succeed….. I would be pulling my wallet out over this one too.

Don’t forget, you can say “$#it” on cable.  $#it is always funny!

TBS has it’s hand in the cookie jar trying to pull a “Conan”.  They signed Conan after he was booted from NBC, and rumor has it, they are the front runner for this project as well.

 “Lionsgate … have committed to 10 episodes up front with the option to pick up and produce 90 more episodes if the ratings prove to be successful,” the source said. ”

Now Charlie will continue to bank from the Two and A Half men reruns and then get another check from a new show.  If he can get through 100 episodes, get that into syndication then he can snort all the coke off all the blondes he want’s……..wait a minute, he can still do that now.  Matter of fact, he’s doing it now and still closed a multi-million dollar deal.

Apparently it hasn’t hurt anyone but CBS.
