Adele Apologizes for Losing her Cool and Flipping the Bird at the Brit Awards [video]
Last night at the British music awards, Adele received the biggest award of the night for British Album of the Year. She is in the middle of her acceptance speech and boasting how proud she is to be a Brit, when the host, James Corden walks up to her, puts a hand on her arm and starts to cut her off so he can introduce the closing act!
He starts to say, “I’m so sorry”
That’s when Adele is in disbelief and says,
“You’re gonna cut me off. Can I just say then, good bye and I’ll see you next time round.”
Then she flips the bird; Middle finger in the air.
Of course just like everything today, it hit the web. Some people understood and some were offended so Adele had to set the record straight. She issued an apology today,
“I flung the middle finger. That was for the suits (organizers) at the Brit Awards, not my fans. I’m sorry if I offended anyone but the suits offended me. I was about to thank the British public for all their support but they cut me off. So thank you very much for all your support. It’s amazing, so thank you very much.”
In turn ITV, issued an apology to Adele…well sort of,
“The Brits is a live event. Unfortunately the program was over running and we had to move on. We would like to apologize to Adele for the interruption.”
If I was Adele I would be pissed to. That was like a Taylor Swift / Kanye interruption. She received the biggest award of the night. They save “Best Album” for the end, because it’s the grand finale. If anything the final act Blur should have gotten cut. That was her moment and it was ruined. I’m not sure who James Corden is, but a seasoned host would have let Adele finish her thanks you’s.
