Seinfeld’s Mr. Kruger (Daniel Von Bargen) Tries to Commit Suicide. He’s Unsuccessful and Has to Call 911 [audio]

He was George’s boss at Kruger Industrial Smoothing. The character actor is barely alive today. He tried to kill himself by shooting himself in the head, but didn’t get the job done.

The 911 audio has been released where he calls the operator and explains what exactly is going on. Kruger’s real name is Daniel von Bargen. It appears that he’s been suffering from diabetes so bad that they wanted to amputate some appendages. That pushed von Barge over the edge. It can all be heard via the 911 call. Von Bargen explains to the operator,
“I’ve shot myself in the head … and I need help.”
When the operator asked if it was an accident, Von Bargen admits that it wasn’t,
“I was supposed to go to the hospital and I didn’t want to.They were supposed to amputate at least a few toes.”
Von Bargen then explains that he shot himself in the temple. I have to say that he sounds incredibly calm for someone who tried to blow his brains out. The 911 operator does a great job at keeping Von Bargen talking.
Towards the end of the audio it gets super sad. You learn that he has already one leg amputated and he doesn’t have any children and feels like there is nothing for him to live for. You can hear the police come in and tell him not to move – which sort of frustrates Von Bargen as if to say, “you f#$kin’ idiots, I can’t move”.
Von Bargen was…I mean is 61 years old. He’s appeared in “Malcolm in the Middle” and he was also Chief Grady in Super troopers.
