Whitney Houston Died From Drowning Says Coroner, Results Poses More Questions than Answers!

Just in case you haven’t heard already, Whitney died from drowning!  Yep!  It’s official.

Earlier reports that dismissed this theory have now been proven wrong by the official toxicology report.

The superstar was found underwater in the bathtub of her hotel room, with “several” bottles of prescription meds found in the room, but the cause of her death was actually drowning.

Whitney’s sister in-law and manager, Patricia Houston released a statement to the press

“We are saddened to learn of the toxicology results, although we are glad to now have closure,”

WHAT WAS ACTUALLY FOUND IN HER SYSTEM?

Good question.  According to the actual Toxicology results she had several substances:

  • Xanax,
  • Marijuana
  • Flexeril
  • Benadryl

I’m not advocating any types of drug usage, but that’s not bad actually.  I was expecting worse.  She could have easily been prescribed the Xanax, had allergies and took Benadryl, was aching from dancing all night the night before and took Flexeril, and was puffin’ a little cheeba to relax.  (“Cheeba” – I’m old school)

 BUT WAIT…..THERE’S MORE

There was also traces of cocaine and its byproducts (cocaine metabolites ), which indicated that Whitney was a chronic cocaine user.  (No real surprise there).  The use of cocaine often results in artery damage, which leads to heart failure.

Ed Winter the Assistant Chief Coroner reported that that there was a build up of plaque in her arteries although it wasn’t clear if she had also suffered from a heart attack that day.

“It just beats up their heart and they will go to use and they will have a heart attack,”

The amount of cocaine that was found in her body will be released in the full autopsy report.

SO WHAT HAPPENED AGAIN??

Dr. Michael Fishbein, a UCLA professor summed up what he thinks happened as a result of the report,

Whitney was simply taking a bath, she had all the medications listed above in her system, that combined with the artery damaged from sustained cocaine usage, caused heart failure which contributed to her drowning.  Fishbein was quoted as saying,

“There’s no reason to drown in a bathtub unless you’re incapacitated,”

Unless you were pushed down, and held down under water!

YEP I SAID IT, BECAUSE IT NEEDS TO BE SAID!

There were no definitive signs of a heart attack, but yet she drowned in a small tub of water?  Sounds very fishy to me.  It was reported that the police have not and are not treating this as a crime.

For me, this provided more questions than answers.  Maybe I’ve been watching to much CSI.
