Huge Season Finale Tops Off Mad Men’s 5th And Biggest Season Ever
It appears that the delay of the 5th season of Mad Men was worth the wait. Yesterday was the Season finale and it drew in 2.7 million viewers. Not huge numbers when you compare it to 14 million viewers of a show like the X-factor but huge numbers when compared to a cable show on A&E.
The series in general has gone up 15% from Season 4 something that is not easily accomplished. For a series to increase in its 5th season takes the right amount of acting, writing, and word of mouth, a trifecta that does not happen that often.
AMC’s President Charlie Collier was like a proud parent on Monday, he released this statement,
Matthew Weiner and his remarkable team have again delivered a season of television beyond compare. We couldn’t be more proud of this program and the brilliant writers, cast and crew that bring it to life,”
As in each season prior, Season 5 is now Mad Men‘s most-watched season, an uncommon television growth record and a testament to the ongoing quality and uniqueness of this rare property. I’d be remiss if I didn’t point out that the record live-same-day Nielsen ratings that gain so much attention are only a small part of the Mad Men success story. Congratulations to the entire Mad Men team on another terrific season.”
Yeah..I agree. The show is just that damn good.
