Pauly D makes Forbes first ever Highest Paid DJ list.
One of the only members of the Jersey Shore crew that has real talent, Pauly was able to parlay his skills into DJ gigs around the East Coast. As Pauly begin to get national exposure, MTV decided to capitalize on that and follow him around the world with a video camera, thus launching his own show.
Pauly came in 7th on Forbes first ever list of the highest paid DJ’s bringing in more than $11 million last year. He told Forbes that booking gigs was challenging at first because venues weren’t really sure if he actually had skills, because of his relationship with “Jersey Shore”,
‘Everybody was skeptical at first, because how everybody heard about me is probably from Jersey Shore,’
‘But now I’m six seasons deep in the show and I’ve been touring all over the country, touring with major pop acts and stuff like that.
‘That legitimizes everything, and they’re starting to say, “This kid isn’t just a reality star, he’s an actual DJ.”’’
On top of DJ’ing around the world, the “Jersey Shore” television show, and his own show “The Pauly D Project”, Delvechio has his on clothing line called Dirty Couture, his own mix drink like Bethany Frankel, and even his own line of headphones. He’s also signed now to 50 cents music label, G-note.
How far will he move up the list next year? It’s all up to him now. It seems like the sky’s the limit.
