Sharon Reveals Why She is Really Leaving AGT.

There have been rumblings that Sharon Osbourne was quitting AGT for about two weeks now, but the reason was never clear.  Sharon has made it crystal clear, the reason she is leaving America’s Got Talent is because she feels that NBC has discriminated against her son Jack!

STARS EARN STRIPES GAVE JACK THE BOOT!

Sharon did not appreciate how her son Jack was booted from the new show “Stars Earn Stripes”.  The show, which is showing promos during this year’s London 2012 Olympics, is a Mark Burnett production.  Burnett is the man behind Survivor, Celebrity Apprentice, The Voice and a host of other wildly successful reality shows that he hopes Stars Earn Stripes will be a part of.

Jack Osbourne was slated as one of the celebrities that would compete on the military themed show, but was booted from the cast two days before he was to start.  The notice came via email.

Osbourne is suggesting that her son was eliminated due to his multiple sclerosis.  Sharon stated,

I just can’t be fake.  It’s discrimination, and it was badly handled.

Sharon reportedly had it out with NBC executives to the point where she said she is done with America’s Got Talent.  It appears that she is willing to break her contract  with NBC and face the consequences which she swiftly trivializes,

“They can’t make me do something I don’t want to do, All they can do is stop me from being a judge on another network for five years.”

AGT’s producer Simon Cowell tried to step in but he could not get things smoothed over.

JACK NEVER HAD A CONTRACT

Jack appeared on his mom’s other show, “The Talk” which airs on CBS and explained that he was fired after he announced that he had multiple sclerosis.  The show responded by saying, Jack was never hired, so how could he get fired.

The truth was that Jack had a contract, and he doesn’t dispute that it was never signed but this is normal industry practice.  Sharon says this is how NBC normally does business,

“I was working without a signed contract right up until the live shows started on ‘America’s Got Talent,’ Everything is done at the last minute. We took six months to negotiate back and forth.”

To cement the deal, at least in Jacks mind he received an email from the network’s VP of Talent.  It stated,

“We are looking forward to working with you, I am happy you are going to be in the NBC family.”

A month later Jack took his multiple sclerosis public and then he got hit with an email saying that

“Regretfully, we cannot move forward with Jack’s participation, The rigors of the show were too intense for him.”

Jack completed a 16 hour endurance race in January and both he and Sharon felt that he was up to the task at hand.  Sharon is heartbroken.  She thought the show gave Jack something to look forward to and to something to fight for everyday, When NBC offered to pay Jack his fee, she said that money was not the issue,

“He didn’t want the money, He wanted his gig. It gave him something to look forward to when he was diagnosed.

“Think of the good that it could have done to show other people who have this [condition] that your life is not over.”

To be fair to jack, he didn’t’ belong in that cast.  (I’m not to sure if Todd Palin does Either).

The men competing are: The biggest Loser’s Dolvett Quince, Terry Crews, Nick Lachey and Dean Cain.

Even the women are no joke, Olympic gold medalist Picabo Street, boxer, Laila Ali, and WWE Diva, Eve Torres.   Jack does not fit well into that mix at all.  This cast is either very famous, or very athletic.  Jack Osbourne is neither.

NBC doesn’t seemed to be phased at all regarding the matter.  They said, simply,

“Sharon has been a valuable part of the NBC family. We regret any misunderstanding and wish Jack well.”

Translation: Sharon, you can easily be replaced.
