Dr. Dre Tapped to Produce New Crime Drama for FX
In one of the more cooler topics of the day, Dr. Dre has been tapped to produce a new series on FX. The shows hour long pilot will debut next year with a script written by writer Sidney Quashie.
The shows plot will be centered around something Dre is intimately familiar with, the music business. It will focus on the dark side of the industry and explore the relationships of Los Angeles’ criminal element and how it ties to the music biz.
Dre will be the executive producer and Brad Bertner will be the co-executive producer.
Very little is known about Quashie who’s biggest claim to fame to date might actually be this story. Back in 2006 Quashie worked with Spike Lee on a would be drama potentially entitled NoLa which was about the Hurricane Katrina victims, a show of which Sid Quashie also wrote the script for.
Dre had his hand in the production of his newest music video, 3 Kings (A Maybach films Visual Piece) featuring himself, Rick Ross and Jay Z. If this is any indication of what we could expect we are definitely from a Dre produced video effort we are all in for a treat. The video is sick!
