Michael J Fox Is Planning a Television Comedy Return
Michael J Fox is working on a comedy that has all the major networks drooling with anticipation.
First of all – do you want to feel old? How about the fact that Michael J Fox is 51!! Yes….51!!
The 51 year old Fox is teaming up with Arrested Development and Cougar Town writer Sam Laybourne to develop his first comedy since Spin City.
Fox who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1991 and retired from Spin City in 2000 announcing that he would use his fame and finances to help find a cure. He has done a great deal of work towards that goal including starting a foundation.
The Michael J Fox foundation is the real deal. They are unlike traditional foundations who count on external expertise to decide where monies should be allocated. They have their own in-house team of formally trained PhDs and business-trained project managers to insure that fund allocation is optimized.
Although, Fox was officially retired, he still made some highly publicized cameos in recent years in shows like, Curb your Enthusiasm, The Good wife and Rescue Me. He revealed that he had found a drug regimen that helped him minimize the uncontrollable tics that are common side effects of Parkinson’s disease. This has been allowing him to resume acting.
Vulture was first to release details of the Fox comedy but very little has been said since. Neither Fox’s camp nor Sony has released any additional information on the project thus far.
