Al Pacino Poised to Be Broadway’s Biggest Earner Ever.
Broadway is breaking Pacino off! The acclaimed actor is reportedly getting $125,000 a week to perform in David Mamet’s Glen Gary Glenn Ross. The production will run for 10 weeks. In this Broadway version, Pacino will be switching roles, he will be playing Shelly Levene, the role that was played by Jack Lemmon in the 1992 film version. Pacino, who also starred in the movie, held the role of Ricky Roma, a part that gave Pacino and Academy award Nomination.
If the play does well, and ticket sales exceed $1.25 Million, Pacino will receive 10% of the box office above and beyond that mark. This pay structure puts him near the highest earners on Broadway ever.
Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig earned $120,000 per week for “A Steady Rain” and Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane were paid $100,000 per week plus profits for “The Producers”. If the show goes well, Pacino could be the highest paid Broadway performer ever.
Pacino’s net worth is approximated at $135 Million. He’s been able to successfully keep his fortune all to himself, oddly enough despite having 3 kids, he never married.
