Kobe and Vanessa Bryant Officially End Their Divorce Proceedings – It’s Cheaper to Keep Her!

Kobe known for his hard work on the court has been putting in work off the court. Normally this has gotten him in trouble, however this time the work has been on his relationship with his wife Vanessa and it appears it’s paid off.

Friday the couple confirmed that they were back together, and it’s official.  They released a statement to the media, celebrating their reconciliation,

‘We are pleased to announce that we have reconciled. Our divorce action will be dismissed.  We are looking forward to our future together,’

Vanessa then posted this on her Instagram account,

Vanessa Bryant's Instagram Message of Marriage reconciliation

Vanessa filed for divorce a little over a year ago in December 2011.  The settlement that Vanessa received was not looking too nice for Kobe.  The two who married in 2001, when Kobe was only 21 and Vanessa 18, did not have a pre-nuptial agreement.  Kobe met his wife at a music video shoot in 1999, when Vanessa Laine was 18 years old. They became engaged six months later.  Lack of such a pre-nup in California left Kobe’s estate vulnerable and exposed to a settlement that would have exceeded $150 Million.

After the filing of the divorce became official Kobe quickly began working to make things right.  By Valentine’s Day last year, a picture surfaced of Kobe kissing Vanessa after a home Lakers game.  Vanessa then took their two daughters to watch Kobe play in the summer Olympics.

After came the holiday photos and then this final statement of their love.

SHE WASN’T WITH HIM WHEN HE WAS SHOOTING AT THE GYM!

A couple of weeks ago, as Vanessa must have known that her relationship was back and an official announcement was coming, she decided after a year, it was time to address Drakes lyrics.  You know them; we have all song them 100 times over the past year,

Bi**tch You Wasn’t With Me Shooting in the Gym

Her response was the following,

I love when immature kids quote a rapper that has never been friends with Kobe and knows nothing about our relationship. Just shows how gullible they are. I don’t need to be in the gym. I’m raising our daughters, signing checks and taking care of everything else that pertains to our home life,” she stated.

The mother of two continued, “I really wish people would stop THINK and then realize that they are being sucked into someone’s clear intention to monetize and gain attention off of our family’s heartache. This is real life. I hold down our home life so my husband can focus on his career. It’s a partnership.”

Since my husband isn’t friends with Drake, we received a text of an apology forwarded from his manager. It’s done and over with and it’s now time for people to THINK before speaking.”

To that I would say, the job of watching two kids along with nanny’s mansions, court-side Lakers tickets and designer dresses is a job that 99.8% of women would sign up for.  Cheating aside, no one is going to feel sorry for you….and let’s get it straight, you DO NOT manage Kobe’s finances.  That is almost a full time job.  To try and justify getting $150 Million in a settlement is a ridiculous argument and something she should have let die with the popularity of the song.  Oh well, hopefully that’s over.

I’m happy to see the two together only because Vanessa loves the limelight and would have to marry another high profile person, something that Kobe and I both did not want to see, read or hear about.  I’m sure she was thinking the same thing about her husband.  Instead of being another Hollywood tabloid story, the two decided to make it work.

Kudos and Congrats to the couple.
