Darren Wright shows damaged teeth

Axl Rose Being Sued After Hitting Concert Goer in the Mouth With a Microphone.

Axl Rose is being sued by a Fan.  During a concert at Perth Arena, in Australia, Rose decided to throw his cordless microphone into the crowd.  Axl, thinking that he was giving some fan a souvenir of a lifetime, didn’t think about the one guy in the crowd who was not paying attention.

His name is Darren Wright.  Wright says that he was in the crowd but could not see the microphone being hurled into the air because of all the stage effects.  Wright explains,

With the bright lights and explosions, I couldn’t see anything.  The next thing I knew, I was whacked in the mouth. I thought I had been punched. I was quite stunned and it took a few seconds to realize what was going on. I could feel bits of teeth in my mouth. Then someone is climbing through my legs to grab the microphone

“I don’t think he intended to do it, but it came at me at a fairly flat and hard trajectory. Those cordless microphones are not light. I’m surprised it didn’t do more damage. At the very least, I want someone to pay to get my teeth fixed,”

The tours promoter Andrew McManus offered Wright a signed microphone as an apology. Wright’s response was, understandably,

I don’t think the microphone is going to fix my teeth or pay for the dentist.  I’m a father of four on a single income doing it hard in Perth.”

Doing it hard indeed!

The damage occurred mainly to Wright’s two front teeth.  He also suffered from a cut lip and lost a chunk of one of his front teeth which left a nerve exposed.  Repairs are expected to cost $5000 and take few months to complete.

A fan of Rose since he was 17, Wright says he has no ill feelings.  I guess that means he’s still a fan.
