‘Buckwild’ Canceled by MTV

In some surprising news, MTV has decided to cancel the second season of the hit reality show, ‘Buckwild.’ The show followed a group of party animals from West Virginia and followed them as they performed silly stunts, partied and tried to show what life was like from a small town out in the country. It was basically a country version of the Jersey Shore, even though the cast and MTV claimed it was completely different.

Anyway, as we reported last week, one of the stars of the show died in a tragic accident on April 1. He and his uncle were found dead in his truck in the middle of the woods after going “mudding.” They apparently died from carbon monoxide poisoning after their tailpipe became covered with mud. Production of the show was stopped following his death, of course. However, now MTV executives have revealed they will not be producing anymore episodes. The producer of the show J.P. Williams told the Hollywood Reporter,

“This is the network that has shows about teen pregnancy. They’ll stick by a show that allows you to abandon a child, but a kid dies by accident doing what he does for a living (mudding) and they cancel the show?”

Such a shame that it is coming to this. It sucks seeing this thing turn ugly between MTV and the show’s cast and production team. Hopefully things get resolved. MTV has not yet commented on the situation.
