Jason Aldean Files for Divorce

Well, you knew it was coming! Last week, we told you about the trouble Aldean and his wife were having and it appears they just couldn’t work things out. Jason’s relationship with his wife of 12 years was just never the same since he cheated on her last year with former Idol contestant, Brittany Kerr. They’re citing irreconcilable differences in the divorce papers that were filed on April 26.  He announced in a statement released to PEOPLE,

“This is a really tough time for my entire family. Jessica and I have been together since we were teenagers. We’ve been through a lot of ups and downs over the years as we grew up together as a couple. She will always be important to me because she is the mother of my children, and I know that we will both always make our daughters our number one priority.”

He also asked for privacy and respect during this difficult time in life,

“I’ve learned that everyone always rushes to judgment when they hear news like this. That’s really hard because no one knows anything about our relationship but us. I understand that because of my job, I have to go through a lot of this in the public eye, but for my girls sake I really wish people would give us some level of privacy and at they very least be respectful of them.”

Sad news, but it’s not surprising. I am actually surprised that they stuck it out together as long as they did. It’s sad for his daughters, but I am sure their daddy’s money will cheer them up whenever they get a little sad about having to be shuffled back and forth between mansions..
