Erin Brockovich Arrested for WHAT?

You’ve heard of Erin Brockovich, right? No, not Julia Roberts who played Erin Brockovich in the 2000 film, ‘Erin Brockovich.’ We’re talking about the real Erin Brockovich! The environmental activist who went into battle with Pacific Gas & Electric after they polluted the water supply of a small town in California.

Well, it looks like Erin was doing her own polluting of the waters at Lake Mead. The 52-year-old was arrested for driving a boat while intoxicated! The arrest took place late Friday night. It was determined that she was over twice the legal limit. Her drunk boating was first noticed by a game warden who noticed that Brockovich was having trouble with the boat…

“She was not sure how to maneuver the boat into the dock. It’s a simple thing if you can think clearly. But if you add alcohol and unfamiliarity of the area, it can all cause serious problems.”

She was released shortly after being arrested after posting bail which was set at $1,000. Erin released a statement Sunday on the incident and she claims she did not operate the boat in open waters. However, she did say that she takes drunk driving very seriously…

“That being said, I take drunk driving very seriously, this was clearly a big mistake, I know better and I am very sorry. After a day in the sun and with nothing to eat it appears that a couple of drinks had a greater impact than I had realized.”

They always blame it on not eating, huh? “Oh…it must have been because I didn’t eat. I really didn’t drink that much.” Right….right. Just a couple of drinks? Sure, Erin. Sure.
