Kanye West Finally Speaks

Kanye West doesn’t sit down for interviews very often and when he does it’s usually not a real in-depth interview. However, the dad to be sat down with Jon Caramanica of the New York Times and he didn’t hold back. Love him or hate him, he certainly speaks his mind and doesn’t seem to care what anyone thinks. In the long interview, Kanye West was asked about fatherhood, and it’s clear that he wants to keep that part of his life private.

“That is a really interesting, powerful question. One of the things was just to be protective, that I would do anything to protect my child or my child’s mother. As simple as that. I don’t want to explain too much into what my thoughts on, you know, fatherhood are, because I’ve not fully developed those thoughts yet.

I don’t have a kid yet. I just don’t want to talk to America about my family. Like, this is my baby. This isn’t America’s baby.”

Good luck with that, Kanye. You do realize who you are having this baby with, right? With a woman who makes a living off of whoring herself out to the media. It’d be like having a baby with Michael Jordan and not wanting the baby to have anything to do with basketball. It’s just not going to happen. Oh, and Kanye actually calls himself the Michael Jordan of music in the interview, by the way. I think some people might disagree with that.

Caramanica also talked about the Grammys with Kanye and the conversation eventually led to the Taylor Swift incident where he was asked if he felt like his “urge” to make things right has led him astray, “It’s only led me to complete awesomeness at all times.” he said. “It’s only led me to awesome truth and awesomeness. Beauty, truth, awesomeness. That’s all it is.” he continued.

And then he was pressed even more on the matter…

So no regrets?

I don’t have one regret.

Do you believe in the concept of regret?

If anyone’s read this waiting for some type of full-on, flat apology for anything, they should just stop reading right now.

But that is something that you apologized for.

Yeah, I think that I have like, faltered, you know, as a human. My message isn’t perfectly defined. I have, as a human being, fallen to peer pressure.

So that was a situation in which you gave in to peer pressure to apologize?

Yeah.”

Interesting. You would think that even if he didn’t agree with her getting the award, he would at least apologize for the timing of it all. I mean, can you imagine how pissed he would be if someone did that to him during his time on stage? It’d be full on tantrum mode. He’d be like the fat kid in the supermarket who is rolling on the floor because his mom won’t get him any cookies.

Another interesting part of the interview came when Kanye West was asked about Kim Kardashian. Kanye explained that he’s the type of rock star that likes to have a girlfriend, “I’m the type of soul that likes to be in love and likes to be able to focus. And that inspires me.” he said. That’s interesting when you consider the report that came out yesterday, accusing him of cheating. Honestly, I believe him on that. I don’t think he is really the cheating type, however, I do think he is a massive tool.
