Demi Lovato Suffers Terrible Loss

Demi Lovato had to take a break from the X-Factor auditions this weekend after it was revealed that her father had passed away. The 20-year-old had a complicated relationship with her father, and it is not known if she actually got to see him before he passed away from a long battle with cancer. Back in 2009, Demi talked about her relationship with her father and had this to say…

“The last time I talked to him was two years ago. When somebody lets you down after you’ve been the only one there for them, and so many times, you don’t know what else to do.”

She also opened about the tough relationship in a song she wrote for her Unbroken album. “For the Love of a Daughter” was the name of the song. “You have a hollowed out heart / but it’s heavy in your chest / I try so hard to fight it but it’s hopeless / Hopeless, you’re hopeless.” she sings in the song.

It’s unclear if they had reconnected since then, but you certainly hope she had the chance to say goodbye. I don’t know what caused the strained relationship with her father, but I can relate. I have a similar relationship with my father, but I know I would be heartbroken if he died without me saying goodbye.

Demi had remained quiet about her father’s death, but she did finally tweet about it late last night. “I feel so humbled to have had so much support from my fans, friends, family and complete strangers. God bless you all, thank you so much love.” she wrote.
