Anderson Cooper Points Out Media Hypocrisy

We told you about Alec Baldwin’s crazy Twitter rant last week. The hot-headed actor went off on a reporter for the Daily Mail after the reporter wrote an article that called out Alec’s wife for allegedly tweeting during the funeral for James Gandolfini. Alec’s rant was somewhat understandable, however, he said a few things during his rant that were a little questionable.

For example, he called the reporter a queen and said, “(I’d) put my foot up your f–king ass, George Stark, but I’m sure you’d dig it too much.” Sounds kind of homophobic, yeah? Well, not a lot of people in the media really brought attention to it, except Anderson Cooper.

“Why does#AlecBaldwin get a pass when he uses gay slurs? If a conservative talked about beating up a ‘queen’ they would be vilified.” Cooper wrote on his Twitter account.

And he raises a good point. Where is the outrage? Sure, he received some backlash for the comments and he has since apologized for the homophobic remarks but you can bet if this was some Fox News anchor, they’d never be able to find a job again. They would be run out of the country and hated for the rest of their life.

Now, is Alec Baldwin homophobic? Probably not. The truth is, he’s just a fucking dick. He’s one of those jocks who resorts to those kind of insults when their feelings get hurt. But that’s not the point! The point is if people want to stop “gay bashing” then they can’t pick and choose who they go after.
