Amanda Bynes On Mental Health Hold After Starting Fire

Well, Amanda Bynes might finally have to admit that she has something wrong with her. The 27-year-old former actress has been hospitalized on the ever so famous 5150 hold. The code is described as, “when any person, as a result of mental disorder, is a danger to others, or to himself, or gravely disabled.”

The troubled up-and-coming rap star was detained by authorities in Ventura County after starting a small fire in the middle of a stranger’s driveway in the Thousand Oaks area. It is believed that she didn’t know the person in the home, so it appears like it was just a random act of madness.

Sgt. Eric Buschow talked to the LA Times and had this to say,

“There was a call about a small fire that she’d apparently set in front of the residence, kind of out on a sidewalk on the concrete. It wasn’t an attempt to burn down the house or anything.”

And even though no damage was done to the property, the deputies who were investigating the fire determined that Bynes met the criteria of 5150. Normally, they only place these holds on people for around three days, but sources say that authorities might make a case for her to stay two weeks. All they have to do is prove she is a danger to herself or others, which shouldn’t be that hard.

Well, at least we finally know who started the fire, right? All this time, it was Amanda Freaking Bynes! But, seriously, I really hope she finally gets some much needed help. I’m not sure what it means when someone randomly starts a small fire on someone’s driveway, but it certainly can’t be a good thing. It’s not like she had the ingredients to make S’mores with her, at least then it would have made a little sense.
