Simon Cowell On Pregnancy Rumors

As we reported to you a couple of days ago, Simon Cowell has apparently got his best friend’s wife pregnant. The Jerry Springer like news came as a shock to many, including Simon Cowell himself.

A report coming out of the New York Daily News claims that Simon assumed Lauren Silverman was using birth control. He apparently thought of the relationship as a causal “friends with benefits” kind of thing. He was reportedly shocked when he heard the news that she was pregnant. The source even claims that Simon feels “tricked” and doesn’t want to have anything to do with Laruen, although that might be hard now since they’ll be having a kid together.

Anyway, Simon Cowell, Lauren Silverman and the odd man out in all of this Andrew Silverman have all released separate statements on the issue.

When Simon Cowell was asked about the rumors at a Television Critics Association event, he tried to make a joke about the tough situation, “I haven’t read the newspapers” he said.

He then went on to say,

“Unfortunately at this moment I have to keep it private. There are a lot of things I will eventually clear up when the time is right, but I really have to be sensitive because there’s a lot of people’s feelings involved here.”

Simon’s “friend” Andrew Silverman also spoke out about the issue,

“My top priority is protecting my 7-year-old son while working to resolve all outstanding issues with my wife. Hopefully people can respect the interest of our child during this process.”

Lauren Silverman’s statement echoed her husband’s, asking for privacy and stating that the most important thing right now is the well-being of their son.

It’s too bad she is pregnant, I am sure she could use a few drinks right about now.
