Jennifer Lawrence Was Heavily Medicated As A Child
Everyone seems to adore Jennifer Lawrence, and we really mean everyone. Not only do fans absolutely love her, but other celebrities are in love with her, too! Several celebrities have expressed their love (and lust) for the 22-year-old actress. She appears to have it all, the looks, the skills and an incredibly charming personality.
However, Jennifer Lawrence’s life wasn’t always so easy. She opened up to Vogue recently about the struggles she faced as a child, revealing that she was heavily medicated for quite some time. She explained that she had a mostly “unhappy” childhood,
“I was a weirdo. I’ve always just had this weird anxiety. I hated recess. I didn’t like field trips. Parties really stressed me out. And I have a very different sense of humor.”
She went on to explain how she was put in therapy as a kid and ended up being prescribed some pretty heavy medication. But it wasn’t the medication that got her out of her funk, it was acting that turned her life around. She started to really pursue her dream of acting when she was 15, and that’s when her parents noticed a big change in her attitude.
“We’re paying for therapy and all this medication, and we don’t need it when she’s here. She’s happy” Jennifer heard her mother say to her father on the phone.
Life is still a bit of a struggle for the actress, though. She admits that she is having trouble adjusting to being in the spotlight so much. She misses her privacy and even said that she feels like she is going through a bit of a meltdown lately.
Sounds like she might need a break from it all and the director of “Catching Fire” agrees. Francis Lawrence has expressed his concern over Jennifer’s “hectic” lifestyle. Saying she needs to take a little bit of a break because she has basically been moving from set to set for too long now.
Well, I certainly don’t want her to take a break, simply because she is such a great actress. However, if a break is what she needs, then a break is what she should take.
