Kelly Osborne v. Lady Gaga on Twitter
A Twitter war between Kelly Osborne and Lady Gaga started off this weekend in the most innocuous way possible; with the gift of a birthday cake. Following her performance on X-Factor UK, Lady Gaga presented Kelly’s mom, Sharon Osborne with a cake that read “Happy Birthday Kelly.”
Hardly offensive right? Wrong.
On learning of the cake, Kelly Tweeted to Lady Gaga “Not to be ungrateful but why would you send me a birthday cake via my MOTHER in a country half the world away.”
Sounds pretty ungrateful to me. Anyway, Gaga decided to keep it classy, simply responding “I didn’t know it was your B-day until this afternoon. Meant as a peace offering. Happy Birthday.”
Seems reasonable enough right? Gaga even included a pic of her and Sharon Osborne posing with the cake. Only in the world of celebrities would this turn into an actual fight.
Kelly Osborne posted a pic of the ‘Happy Birthday Kelly” cake with a hash tag “ #EatMyShit #Hypocrisy”.
Of course, this would be especially weird, if there weren’t an ongoing feud between the two. It all started in 2009 when Osborne called Lady Gaga a butterface. It escalated this year when Gaga wrote an open letter to Osborne, stating “your work on E! with the Fashion Police is rooted in criticism, judgment, and rating people’s beauty against one another.”
Sharon Osborne then jumped into the fray, accusing Lady Gaga of bullying her daughter. The two made nice a few months back, but it seems that Kelly Osborne isn’t ready to let it go.
My only advice to Gaga would be to let her eat cake.
