Katy Perry Reveals The Real Reason Behind Russell Brand Divorce

Katy Perry and Russell Brand have officially been divorced for almost two years now, but their relationship still gets brought up in almost every interview Katy Perry has. However, Perry doesn’t seem to mind talking about the divorce, she’s always been very open about everything.

And that didn’t change in a recent interview with Marie Claire. The 29-year-old singer spoke very candidly about the divorce and the struggles she faced after she received the text from Brand that ended it all.

“There were two weeks of my life after I found out the truth of my marriage where I was like, ‘OK. All right. I can’t feel this. This is too intense right now.’ I was, like, just eating Flamin’ Hot Cheetos and drinking, and that’s it.”

She also revealed that her decision to not have kids played a major role in their divorce,

“I’m definitely not there yet, and I can’t plan that far in advance. When I decide to have a family, I’ll just want to be Mom for a little bit. [Brand] really wanted me to have children, and I knew I wasn’t ready.

I think it was a way of control. I think it was part of, If I have a kid, then I would have to sacrifice — I’d have to be home more. I really wanted to, but I knew I wasn’t ready for it. It wasn’t like, ‘Hey, let’s have a kid because we’re in love.”

That actually makes a lot of sense. If you remember in past interviews, Katy Perry would talk about how Russell always had a problem with her being on the road so much. Knocking her up would certainly be one way to keep her butt in the kitchen where she belongs, am I right?
