How Did Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt Blow $10 Million?
Sadly, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt used to be extremely popular here in America. Just like with the Jersey Shore, we have tried to forget that we were ever caught up in their drama.
But it happened, and there is evidence of our poor taste. Heidi and Spencer were once raking in some big money when their MTV reality show was riding high. They made a lot of money out of their 15 minutes of fame, but they blew through that money just as quickly as they recieved it.
The couple talked with InTouch magazine recently and admitted to wasting $10 million on unnecessary items like $4,000 bottle of wines and massive shopping sprees up to $30,000.

“We just thought we were Jay Z and Beyonce. We didn’t think about long term. In the moment, it was just, like, the money was coming so fast and there was so much fame. You just can’t imagine it like a light switch turning off. We were reckless with our money.”
Apparently, Spencer and Heidi forgot that Jay Z and Beyonce actually had talent. Something you need just a little bit of if you’re planning on staying at the top for an extended period of time.
Now that they are broke and no longer famous, they both understand where they went wrong. “I regret playing the villain so hard with, you know, not saving all my money, because I’d be laughing all the way to the bank being (a) hated multimillionaire right now.” Pratt said.
I don’t feel bad for them. $10 million is just so outlandish to me that I couldn’t even begin to think how I would spend it all. No one should need more than $10 million to be more than comfortable their entire life.
