Sources Claim Philip Seymour Hoffman Predicted His Own Death
Sources claim the 46-year-old actor was on a “heroin” binge 6 weeks before he died. According to the sources, who talked with TMZ, Hoffman went to them and told them he started injecting again and couldn’t stop.
He said that he could “kick it” for a day or two, but then he would fall off the wagon again. He was desperate for help and even went back to AA, but even that didn’t work. He allegedly told his friends, “If I don’t stop I know I’m gonna die.”
To make matters worse, he was also drinking a lot during this 6 week period, which caused him to make even more bad decisions. Those that were close to him say you could tell that he was in trouble just by looking at him. He looked “dirty and disheveled” sources told TMZ.
[more…]His death really highlights how addiction can ruin a life. Hoffman was clean for 23 years before falling off the wagon back in 2012. 23 years clean and he was still fighting with his addiction every single day.
Sadly, Hoffman was considered a “guru” to a lot of people attending AA meetings. He reportedly would attend meetings and give hope to those fighting their addiction.
You know, it’s easy to say, “He’s stupid! How could he throw his life away?” When you haven’t had to go through a similar situation. This is a man who was clean for 23 years before falling off the wagon again! He clearly tried to get help, but it just wasn’t enough.
Maybe we all should spend a little less time judging addicts and spend a little more time trying to understand them.
