Ed Sheeran Sings To 15-Year-Old Girl Moments Before Her Death
This is definitely the saddest and most beautiful news of the week. Ed Sheeran, who already seems like the most likable guy in the world, just made it that much easier to root for his success.
The English musician fulfilled the dying wish of a 15-year-old fan. It all happened back on Tuesday of this week when 15-year-old Triona Priestley, who suffered from cystic fibrosis, took a turn for the worse. Her rapid decline in health forced family members and friends to reach out to social media.
They even got the local media involved to get the attention of Ed Sheeran. Eventually, they were able to get the hashtag #SongForTri trending on Twitter. And on Tuesday, Ed Sheeran made Priestley’s dream a reality.
[more…]Sheeran called her on the phone and sang her favorite song, “Little Birds.” Priestley’s family reports that while Sheeran was singing to her, she drifted off to sleep. Tragically, she never did wake back up. She died just several minutes later.
Priestley’s brother told Independent the following…
“What they gave us and her was a beautiful last moment together. Triona slipped into a sleep as Ed was singing to her and passed away shortly afterwards.”
It’s truly one of those stories that will make sad and happy tears drip down your face. An incredible mix of heartbreak, with a little bit of magic thrown in.
