Angelina Jolie Talks About The Fairy Tale Life She Never Believed She Would Have
We all might be jealous of Angelina Jolie’s life right now. She’s a famous movie star, she’s going to marry Brad Pitt and she has six wonderful children. The 38-year-old is clearly living the life, but she talked with Elle magazine recently, and she admitted she never thought it would happen.
“I never thought I’d have children, I never thought I’d be in love, I never thought I’d meet the right person. Having come from a broken home — you kind of accept that certain things feel like a fairy tale, and you just don’t look for them.”
Angelina, who posed for several stunning photos in the June issue of the magazine, also talked about what it was like to work with her kids on the set of her new “Sleeping Beauty” adaption, Maleficent.
Specifically, she talked about casting her daughter Vivienne as young Aurora in the film.
[more…]“And my little Vivienne — we call her my shadow, because there’s nothing I can do to shake her. I can be tired, I can be grumpy, I can be in a terrible mood, and she doesn’t care. It’s ‘Mommy, Mommy,’ and she’ll cling to me. We knew that she would still do that thing, she’d still smile at me and insist that I pick her up. So we couldn’t really cast anybody else.”
Her 10-year-old son Pax and her 9-year-old daughter Zahara also landed roles in the film. And even though having them on set was fun for a few days, Angelina admits she doesn’t want her kids to make a career out of it.
“Brad and I made the decision that we wouldn’t keep them from sets and the fun of making movies, but we wouldn’t [glorify it either] — we wouldn’t make it a good thing or a bad thing. But I would really prefer they do something else.”
Sounds reasonable. It really does seem like they are terrific parents. I keep hoping they will adopt me one day, but fairy tales like that never happen to a normal guy like me.
See what I did there? I’ll be on the cover of Elle magazine in no time!
