Walmart Tries To Put The Blame On Tracy Morgan, Says He Should Have Been Wearing Seatbelt

Comedian Tracy Morgan is still trying to recover from the injuries he suffered in a six-vehicle accident back in June. In the accident, Morgan’s friend and fellow comedian James McNair was killed. So, Morgan is having to recover both physically and mentally.

The 45-year-old comedian is outraged today after learning Walmart is trying to claim he made the accident worse. As most of you know, Walmart is facing a lawsuit by the people injured in the crash including Tracy Morgan. Walmart says Morgan and those injured should have been wearing seatbelts.

Injuries in the accident, “were caused, in whole or in part, by plaintiffs’ failure to properly wear an appropriate available seatbelt restraint device.” Walmart claims in their defense. This has understandably pissed off Morgan and the other people injured in the crash, especially when you consider that the Walmart truck driver was traveling 20 mph over the speed limit and was at the end of his drive time limit.

Obviously Tracy Morgan did not cause the wreck, and that’s not what Walmart is trying to claim. They are simply trying to point out that those injured in the crash might have benefited from wearing seatbelts. We have to remember they are being sued here. Did everyone expect them to just let it happen?

But still, Morgan is sickened by Walmart’s defense…

“I can’t believe Walmart is blaming me for an accident that they caused. My friends and I were doing nothing wrong. I want to thank my fans for sticking with me during this difficult time. I love you all. I’m fighting hard every day to get back.”

It’s hard to blame the guy. If I suffered several broken ribs, a broken leg, a broken nose and I lost a close friend in a crash caused by a sleepy truck driver, I would probably be pretty pissed if someone said, “Well, you should have been wearing your seatbelt!”
