WATCH: Tory Lanez Falls From Balcony After Discussing Drake Diss At his Concert. He Later Posts the Full Video Himself (2 VIDEOS)
This is the tale of two videos. One looks horrible and one sets the record straight about what really happened after the fall. And somehow Drake, just like NBA All Star weekend, found himself in the middle of it all.
WHY THE BEEF WITH DRAKE IN THE FIRST PLACE
What people don’t know is that Lanez actually started the Beef with Drake. When Drake started calling Toronto “The New 6”, Lanez sent out a since deleted tweet, firing the first shots.
This whole calling Toronto the “6 thing. It’s not cool bro.
What he didn’t expect was for Drake to fire back. I’m not sure why he didn’t expect it, because say what you want, Drake is Hip Hop and he has shown to take on all challengers. Lanez is no exception. On Drakes newest single “Summer Sixteen” Drake says,
All you boys in the new Toronto want to be me a little
All your exes know I like my O’s with a V in the middle
You would love it if I went away or didn’t say nothing else
How am I keeping it real by keeping this sh-t to myself?
You was never gang, gang, gang, gang, you was never one of us
Had us fooled for a minute there, now we done all grown up
But I’m better off anyway, y’all never gon’ finish Drake.
I, like the rest of the Hip Hop world understood that first line as a reference to Tory Lanez mixtape entitled “New Toronto”. Lanez, a new comer and not as silly as Meek Mill (who is still licking his wounds after being bodied by Drake), decides not to take the bait. During an interview with Revolt, when asked about the lines, he refused to engage in battle. He said,
“I don’t know what that man has against me. I’m getting money over here. I’m good. I’m young. I’m finally in a position to feed my family. Please don’t try to take that away from me. All I want to do is rap. I’m a f-cking Drake fan.”
At first when I read it I thought he was coming off like a little beyyyatch. Let’s face it, rap was built on battles and Drake is protecting his home turf. However, after actually seeing Lanez say the quote and listening to his delivery, he was just being honest. He doesn’t’ want a career ending blow as his career is just starting; he just wants to do what he loves doing. Respect. Here is Lanez in his own words.
