It’s Here! Watch Blake Shelton & Gwen Stefani Perform The Song They Wrote Together On ‘The Voice’
We gave you a warning last week. We told you that ‘The Voice‘ would finally be worth recording, thanks to the scheduled duet between Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani.
Most of you probably forgot to record it, mostly likely because you figured you could just jump on our site the next day to watch the video. Well, you made the right decision. You can watch their full duet in the video at the bottom of this page.
The song, Go Ahead and Break My Heart, was written by both Blake and Gwen. It will appear on Blake’s upcoming album, which he claims is his most personal album ever. The song talks about being fresh out of a long relationship. You’re feeling a little discouraged, and you are certainly not looking to fall in love again, but then someone special comes along and you’re like, “Well, crap. Go ahead and break my heart.”
It’s a neat tune. I’m not sure if it’s Blake or Gwen’s best work. It does help knowing they wrote it together. You can sit there and pretend like that’s not the cutest thing ever, but I have no problem accepting the adorableness. In fact, I welcome it.
By the way, Shelton said before the performance that “this is one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written or recorded,” so let’s just hope they stay together forever. We can’t handle another heartbreak.
