Sony Music Posts Tweet Claiming Britney Spears Is Dead…What The Heck Is Going On?!? Details Inside!

As most of you should know, George Michael passed away this Christmas, confirming that 2016 is the absolute worst.

And this morning, 2016 looked like it was about to get even worse. The official Sony Music Global page posted a tweet early in the morning on Monday claiming Britney Spears was dead.

“britney spears is dead by accident! we will tell you more soon #RIPBritney,” the tweet read. It reached thousands of people in just minutes. People searched around the internet to see if anyone else was reporting this shocking news.

But they didn’t have to search long. Just a few minutes after the tweet was posted, a second tweet was posted saying that Sony had been hacked by OurMine Security.

Some of you might be having a Home Alone moment right now…

Where have you heard their name before? Well, they are a team of gifted people who have hacked Mark Zuckerberg and Netflix.

And instead of doing anything truly sinister with their hacks, they post messages like this…

So it looks like this group is simply trying to give these celebrities and companies a wake-up call. They’re not trying to destroy anyone, they are trying to prevent that from happening by showing these companies how vulnerable they are.

And on their website, they’re now selling their security services to the general public. From just $10 to scan an email address to $5,000 to check a network’s security.

It’s an interesting (genius) way to promote your business.
