Ed Sheeran Has Got This Fame Game Figured Out, Hear How He Managed To “Properly” Fall In Love During His One Year Break

Ed Sheeran is making the headlines once again after releasing two new tunes earlier this month. The 25-year-old singer took a year off in 2016 to step away from social media and the music business.

And he wasn’t alone during this break. One special lady spent the entire year with him. His girlfriend Cherry Seaborn spent almost every single day in 2016 with him. They have been dating on and off for several years after meeting each other in high school.

One of the reasons Sheeran took this break is to spend some quality time with Seaborn. He’s never had a relationship where he could just be with someone constantly. His busy schedule always got in the way.

“This has been the first time I’ve actually had the time to fall in love properly. So the catalyst of taking a year off was also the fact that my partner quit her job in New York—which she’s now got back in London, which is really cool—but we were just basically like, let’s quit our jobs and have a year of forming a tight bond. So we went traveling and spent every day for a year together. I’ve probably had three days apart from her in the last year. I’ve never been happier.”

Now that he has fallen in love “properly,” he’s starting to seriously consider having kids. He’s already making plans and writing down how everything will work out.

His plan is to take an extended break once his future kids start going to school. Basically, he wants to pull a Bruce Springsteen.

“When they hit 4 or 5 [years old] and start primary school, I’m just out. I think [Bruce] Springsteen took an extended break when his kids went to school. I think that’s going to be me. I think I just want to set up a little studio in the countryside—which I have done—and just have new artists come down, write songs with them, produce with people.”

Sounds like the dream. He has certainly set himself up to do all that. He worked his butt off these past few years and now he has enough money in the bank to do whatever the heck he wants.
