Vanessa Bryant Finally Settles Lawsuit With Her Mother For “Unpaid” Nanny Work
As you all know, Vanessa Bryant has been in an unfortunate legal battle with her own mother, Sofia Laine, for several months now.
Sofia has been money hungry ever since the tragic death of Kobe Bryant. Instead of just simply being there for her daughter, she went to the tabloids and tried to paint Vanessa as the bad guy, claiming she was taking away her house and cars.
She also claimed that she had worked as a nanny (aka grandmother) for Vanessa and Kobe for nearly 20 years and she was owed $200,000 for her services, which she says equals out to $96 an hour.
Oh, and she also claimed that Kobe promised to take care of her for the rest of her life.
Vanessa has called the lawsuit “frivolous, disgraceful and unimaginably hurtful,” and made it clear Kobe never promised her anything. She also said Kobe would be incredibly disappointed in her behavior and lack of empathy.
Thankfully, the court battle is now over.
According to multiple reports, the case has been closed and the lawsuit has been settled. The terms of the settlement are private, so we don’t know what Sofia received, but we have to imagine Vanessa gave her $200,000 just to shut her the hell up.
It’s a pretty sad situation, after losing your husband and your own child, to have your mother come after you in court over some money? And to talk bad about you in the press? That’s f**ked up.
Hard to imagine they’ll ever have a meaningful relationship again. Money truly does bring out the worst in people.
