Donald Glover Says Malia Obama Is A Wonderful Addition To His Writing Team
Last week, the third season of ‘Atlanta‘ finally premiered after what felt like a ten year hiatus. In reality, it was only four years, which is still an extremely long time. The only other show that can get by with such a long break is Stranger Things, so Donald Glover is in good company.
The comedian/actor/musician/writer/director claims season three and season four (the final season) will be some of the best television ever produced. He claims it’s up there with The Sopranos. It’s worth noting both seasons have already been filmed.
This means that Glover has already started work on his next project. He recently signed an 8-figure deal with Amazon Studios, and he’s currently developing a television series with them titled, Hive. It’s reportedly inspired by a pop star reminiscent of Beyonce.
And guess who is part of the writers’ room? Barack Obama’s daughter, Malia. If you’ve been following along, then you know Malia has been working toward a career in Hollywood, interning on several tv shows and movies since graduating from college.
After putting in the work as an intern/assistant, Malia has been upgraded to a writer. She’s part of the writing team for Glover’s upcoming series, and according to Glover, she’s extremely talented.
TMZ caught up with Glover in Los Angeles the other night, and they asked what he thought of Malia.
He believes she can do anything she wants, whether that be screenwriting, directing or producing…
That’s high praise coming from Glover, who is one of the most talented people in the business.
We’re sure Barack and Michelle are proud.
