News Anchor Suspended After Slurring Words During Broadcast And Making Bizarre Comments
If you were watching the local news in Albany on Saturday, chances are you saw news anchor Heather Kovar acting erratically while trying her best to deliver the news.
She appeared disheveled and slurred nearly all her words. In one clip, you can see her talking about the weather, and then trying to get the meteorologist in the mix, but she calls him by the wrong name multiple times.

During another report, she lost her train of thought and bizarrely just blurted out, “Well, hello! Good afternoon” as if she was a robot or something.
She was clearly also having some technical issues during the segment and seen holding a wire at one point during the broadcast. She was ultimately cut off from speaking mid-sentence.
The clips of her disastrous segment went viral, and the network suspended her the following day. They are currently investigating the incident, presumably to figure out if they should fire her or not.
And while some people thought she was drunk, or even possibly having a stroke, Kovar claims she was suffering from exhaustion.
In a statement to the Times Union later Sunday, Kovar noted that she had ‘returned early from family leave following my dad’s death. On Friday, I notified the station I would not be renewing my contract which expires July 31. Saturday I was scheduled to work the early morning 6 a.m. shift and the evening shift. I was sleep-deprived and exhausted.
Sounds like she’s just going through a difficult time. Also sounds like she was going to be quitting anyway, so I suppose her relationship with the station is coming to an end no matter what.
