Pizza Delivery Dude Turns Into Real Life Superhero, Saves An Entire Family From Burning Building (VIDEO)
Remember the name Nicholas Bostic. Put some respect on that name while you’re remembering it, because the dude is a freaking hero.
The 25-year-old pizza delivery guy from Indiana was driving in town a little after midnight last week when he saw a house fully engulfed in flames. There were no firetrucks or any other emergency vehicles in sight, so he decided to run to the house, to make sure no one was inside.
He yelled, but he heard nothing. He still had this feeling that people were inside though, so he walked through the burning house, which was filled with smoke, and made his way upstairs. He found four kids, ranging in age from 1 to 18.
They were sleeping, so Nicholas woke them up and helped them run to safety. When they got outside, one of the kids informed Nicholas that a 6-year-old child was still inside.
So what did he do? He ran back inside.
He had no idea where the child was … he screamed for the child as he meandered through the burning home, even looking under beds. He made his way upstairs, but then heard a child crying in the downstairs area. Problem was … smoke was everywhere and it felt like an oven. Nicholas couldn’t see but he wrapped his shirt around his mouth and took the plunge downstairs, where he located the child.
He scooped up the girl and looked for the front door, but he couldn’t find it through the black smoke, so he ran back upstairs with the the girl in his arms and jumped out a second-floor window, making sure to land on his side, so the girl didn’t get hurt.
Incredibly, the child was unharmed. In fact, all of the kids were good. But Nicholas? He was in pretty bad shape. He suffered severe smoke inhalation and had a pretty nasty cut on his arm. In the video, you can see EMTs use a tourniquet to stop the bleeding.
Nicholas’ cousin has started a GoFundMe to help pay for the medical bills. So far, they’ve raised over $250,000. According to the last update, Nicholas is able to talk again and is starting to feel a little better, but he has a long recovery ahead of him.
What an incredible dude and story. Even as he was on the ground, struggling to breath and bleeding out his arm, his main concern was making sure the kid was okay. A true hero.
