Amanda Bynes Has Been Placed On A Psychiatric Hold After Roaming The Streets Naked
Some pretty sad news to report today. Amanda Bynes has been placed on a 72-hour psychiatric hold after she was found walking the streets completely naked.
Even worse, she was walking the streets of downtown Los Angeles. If you’ve never been to downtown LA, well, it’s basically like NYC, except not nearly as happening and somehow even dirtier. It’s also jam packed with homeless people. So the fact that Bynes was walking those streets completely naked? That’s a bad sign.
This went down on Sunday, March 19. According to the report, the 36-year-old former Nickelodeon star waved down a car and actually told the driver she was having a psychotic episode. She then dialed 911 herself.
Our law enforcement sources say Bynes was taken to a nearby police station, where a mental health team determined she needed to be placed on a 5150 psych hold. Fortunately, our sources say it doesn’t appear Bynes was hurt at all during the ordeal, though things could’ve been much worse given the area where she was found.
The hold only lasts 72 hours, but it can be extended, and in her case, it likely will be. It’s not clear what she was doing in downtown, but she certainly wasn’t up to anything good.
This sad situation comes nearly one year after a judge terminated Bynes’ conservatorship after her petition to dissolve the arrangement was supported by her parents.
She said at the time:

I am excited about my upcoming endeavors — including my fragrance line — and look forward to sharing more when I can.
Sad to see her declining once again. It’s interesting to see the similarities between her and Britney Spears. You’ll remember, Britney’s conservatorship was also terminated, and in recent months, she’s displayed a declining mental status as well.
