‘Succession’ Star Brian Cox Flips On His Meghan Markle Comment, Now Says She’s The Victim
180? Yes, please. ‘Succession‘ actor Brian Cox is changing his tune dramatically when it comes to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
Earlier this month, the 76-year-old grumpy actor claimed Markle knew what she was getting into by marrying Harry. He also insisted she had ambitions of joining the royal family before even meeting Harry.
She had the childhood dreams of marrying Prince Charming and all that s–t we see as fantasy that could be our lives in our dreams. You can’t go into a system where somebody’s already been trained to behave in a certain kind of way and then just expect them to cut themselves off. I mean, she knew what she was getting into.
That interview pissed more than a few people off, and now it looks like Cox’s team has convinced him to change his opinion.
He was interviewed by Radio Times this past week, and in the interview, he claims the conversation about Markle was taken out of context.
I’m a bit angry about that because that whole thing has been taken out of context. I actually have enormous sympathy for them. They’re the product of an institution which is moribund and shouldn’t exist anymore. But that’s a difficult situation where [Meghan] comes from, and it’s understandable that she sees something [appealing] – and it does look like a fairy tale. I think they’re victims.
Honestly. I kind of get what he’s saying in both quotes. She likely did have a fantasy of dating a literal Prince Charming. And maybe she should have done more research into the system before agreeing to jump in head first.
That being said, it’s human nature to hope for the best. She probably believed it wasn’t as bad as people made it seem. Maybe she thought they were changing. Heck, maybe she even thought she could help them change.
Obviously it didn’t work out that way though.
