A Man Armed With A Knife Broke Into Benedict Cumberbatch’s Home And Threatened His Entire Family

Benedict Cumberbatch and his family are probably all on edge right now after a man broke inside their home and threatened them with a knife.

The 46-year-old actor, who lives in North London, was inside his home with his wife and three children when the intruder, 35-year-old Jack Bissell, broke inside.

A source revealed just how frightening it was for the family…

Naturally all of the family were absolutely terrified and thought this guy was going to get in and hurt them. Luckily it never went that far. Benedict and Sophie have had many sleepless nights since worrying that they may be targeted again. The fact that it was a targeted intrusion makes it a lot more scary.

The armed intruder, Jack, worked previously as a chef at the Beaumont Hotel in Mayfair. He allegedly kicked through the front door and shouted, “I know you’ve moved here, I hope it burns down!”

He managed to flee the scene before police arrived, but police were able to track him down using DNA he left behind on the intercom system outside the house. He was arrested and hit with a three-year restraining order.

During this month’s trial, prosecutors said Bissell allegedly told a nearby shopkeeper that he was going to break into Cumberland’s home and burn it down. Bissell pled guilty and was sentenced on May 10. However, details surrounding the date the incident took place have not been disclosed.

It’s not exactly clear if this man is just 100% crazy and never met Benedict at all, or if he previously had some interaction with him, perhaps as a chef at some hotel or eatery.

Hopefully Benedict and his family can find some peace now that the dude has been charged.
