Sofia Vergara And Joe Manganiello Are Getting A Divorce After Just Seven Years Of Marriage

We told you yesterday that Ariana Grande and her husband, Dalton Gomez, were getting a divorce, and now today we have another high profile married couple throwing in the towel.

Modern Family‘ star Sofia Vergara and her husband Joe Manganiello have separated and are filing for divorce after seven years of marriage.

In a statement to PageSix, the couple had this to say…

We have made the difficult decision to divorce. As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.

Pretty standard stuff with that statement. Sofia is currently in Italy with a group of friends to celebrate her 51st birthday, and judging by some of the photos, she doesn’t seem bothered by this split at all. But we all know photos/social media feeds aren’t always an honest look into someone’s life.

It appears the couple may have been having issues for at least a year now. Back in August of 2022, Joe did not attend Sarah Hyland’s wedding with Sofia, which seemed strange at the time.

The star couple also placed their home in Beverly Hills on the market last year. After not finding a good fit, they took it off the market, only to put it back on earlier this year.

And then finally, Joe was not at Sofia’s huge July 4th party.

Vergara threw a party, which friends and family members attended. However, there was no sign of her hubby. The actress shared images of her lavishly decorated tablescape, a specialty dessert tray and even a cake adorned with a giant eagle — but no Manganiello.

Seems like this split has been in the making for at least a year now.

A sad end to what seemed like a fairytale romance. Back in 2020, Joe had this to say about Sofia…

I knew pretty quickly that I could trust her, and she knew pretty quickly that she could trust me. And we’re both the kind of people who are capable of putting the other person ahead of ourselves. I was capable of putting her wishes ahead of mine, whatever they were, and she was capable of doing the same. Once you have that, you don’t let go of it.

…until you do?
