Dwyane Wade Admits He Tried To Break Up With Gabrielle Union Before Revealing He Got Another Woman Pregnant
These days, Gabrielle Union and Dwayne Wade are one of the most solid celebrity couples. They have a beautiful family together and appear to be madly in love.
But it wasn’t always this easy. In fact, they almost didn’t make it here.
During a recent interview with Shannon Sharpe, Wade looked back at the year 2013, which was probably one of the most difficult years of his life. He and Union were supposedly “on a break” at the time, and he was f**king around with other women. He made the mistake of not wrapping up and ended up getting another woman (Aja Metoyer) pregnant.
This was devastating news to Wade at the time because he wanted to make things work with Union. That’s where his love was.
I couldn’t sleep. I wasn’t eating. When … you have this information and you know it’s gonna f–k somebody’s life up that you care about, that you love, if it don’t hurt you, then you’re not human.
He was so nervous to tell her that he tried to just end their relationship instead. He told Sharpe that he tried to breakup with her, “I tried to pussyfoot around it,” he admitted during the interview.

But Union wasn’t having it. She kept trying to make the relationship work, so Wade knew he had to tell her.
You gotta sit with you and you gotta sit with this person if this is who you’re going to be with. I had to sit with my wife and have this conversation. I couldn’t have gotten through that moment without her sticking with me. That was a rough time for me. You got a lot on your mind. You’re keeping something from people you love. It’s heavy.
And while it was a rough time for him, it may have been an even rougher time for Union. She talked a little about how she was feeling in her memoir, You Got Anything Stronger, revealing she needed lots of therapy after learning the “devastating” news.
