Elon Musk Defends Russell Brand, Claims It’s A Witch Hunt And Seems To Suggest Conspiracy Theory
Elon Musk is once again proving you don’t need to be intelligent to be extremely wealthy. The billionaire, who just might have the most punchable face in history, was interviewed by Ben Shapiro this week, who oddly enough might have the second most punchable face in history.
During their conversation, the topic of Russell Brand came up. If you haven’t heard, the 48-year-old comedian was accused of rape and sexual assault by multiple women, with one claiming the assault happened when she was just 16-years-old.
And while Brand hasn’t been convicted of anything yet, the fact that multiple women have come forward seems to suggest there is a lot of smoke here and most likely a fire.
But Musk says people need to chill out. He defended Brand:
There needs to be, obviously, a conviction here. It can’t be guilty until proven innocent. Because obviously we’re just sort of in the witch burning phase here; just being declared a witch is enough to make you a witch and be burnt. People shouldn’t be destroying his life based on the potential of false accusations.
Here’s the thing though, if people no longer want to support someone who was accused of multiple rapes, that’s their right! If YouTube doesn’t want to monetize his videos because it’s a bad look for their company, that’s their right! Brand wasn’t born with something special right to be a performer. When your paycheck depends on the support and entertainment of others, you take a big risk knowing it can be taken away from you at any moment.
Musk went to suggest that Brand is being targeted because he was known for questioning the “powers that be” on his podcast.
Seems like an odd coincidence that it’s happening when Russell is really gaining traction, questioning a lot of the conventional wisdom. I think we’re running out of conspiracy theories that didn’t turn out to be true.
Of course, one could also argue that Brand intentionally started moving in this direction because he knew these allegations were coming out. He wanted something to blame when they did. Because let’s be real here, there had been rumblings for years now, long before he started his YouTube show. He was a known sex addict. The Russell Brand you see now, is NOT the same Russell Brand of the early-to-mid 2000s.
In any event, f**k Elon Musk.
