Jessica Simpson Shares Truly Unrecognizable Photo Of Herself From Her Days Of Alcoholism

These days, Jessica Simpson is the healthiest she’s ever been in her life, but turn the clock back six years ago? She was at her worst. The 43-year-old singer/actress went on her Instagram Story earlier this week to celebrate 6 six years of sobriety by sharing an old photo of herself.

In the photo, which was snapped over six years ago, Simpson sits on a couch in a pink tracksuit, and as you can see, she looks nearly unrecognizable. Honestly, if someone showed me this photo, I don’t think I’d know it was Simpson.

She first shared this photo two years ago to mark her fourth year of being sober. She captioned it, “This person in the early morning of Nov 1, 2017 is an unrecognizable version of myself.”

The mother of three talked about how she wanted to feel pain back then…

I wanted to feel the pain so I could carry it like a badge of honor. I wanted to live as a leader does and break cycles to advance forward- never looking back with regret and remorse over any choice I have made and would make for the rest of my time here within this beautiful world.

She lost 100 pounds in her sobriety, and discovered that drinking wasn’t her issue, it was her lack of self-love and self-worth. In her 2020 memoir, Open Book, she revealed she first started drowning herself in alcohol and pills in 2007 while dating John Mayer following her very public divorce from Nick Lachey.
