She might be the queen of pop, but she’s certainly not the queen of being on time. Fans who showed up for Madonna’sCelebration tour stop in Brooklyn last night were pissed after waiting for the diva for nearly three hours.
According to the reports, the 65-year-old superstar was supposed to hit the stage at 8:30 PM, but she didn’t show up until 11 PM, which means she kept fans waiting nearly three hours.
Some fans went on their Twitter accounts to express their frustration:
One user wrote, “I don’t give a f–k if you’re Madonna. If you’re 3 hours late, you’re just f–king rude.”
Another concertgoer shared, “I love Madonna but it’s really f–ked up how she’s literally like 2 hours late for her FIRST show in the us.”
Others demanded a refund. Of course, in full disclosure, there were also fans who claimed the wait was worth it because Madonna put on an incredible show once she actually took the stage.
A source close to Madge told Page Six Thursday morning that there were some tech issues during sound check that prompted her to be just one hour late, as Honey Dijon was scheduled to start at 8:30 p.m.
Honey Dijon is not a condiment, by the way. She’s apparently a DJ who is opening up for Madonna.
Madonna has two more shows in Brooklyn tonight and tomorrow night, so here’s to hoping they have those “tech issues” figured out.
After Brooklyn, Madonna is headed down to Washington D.C., before going back up to Boston and Toronto in January.
