Christina Applegate Makes Surprise Appearance At 2024 Emmys, Gets Standing Ovation
Back in 2023, Christina Applegate made an appearance at the 2023 SAG Awards and told the crowd it would “likely be her last awards show as an actor.”
For those who don’t know, the 52-year-old actress was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2021 and the disease has progressed since, making it extremely difficult for her to walk.
But even with all those challenges, Applegate decided to surprise everyone by showing up at the 2024 Emmys to present an award. She walked on the stage with some assistance from a cane and was met with a standing ovation from the crowd, which was mostly filled with her peers.
She let out a few tears, and then joked, “Body not by Ozempic.”
It was a pretty special moment. Applegate was actually nominated for an award, Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, for her role in the Netflix series, Dead to Me.
She lost to Quinta Brunson, but we’re willing to bet she was okay with that because Brunson’s win was historic.
