Supermodel Gisele Bundchen Says She Cured Her Depression And Panic Attacks By Changing Her Diet

Most people need therapy and even medication to treat their depression/panic attacks, but supermodel Gisele Bundchen? Well, she claims she just needed to change her diet.

During an interview on ‘The View‘ she revealed that she recovered from “severe depression” and panic attacks in her early 20s by simply changing up her terrible diet. She talked about how she was just going 100 miles an hour through life and not really paying attention to her health.

She was drinking, smoking and basically living off coffee every single day. She spent over a year going to specialists, but she claims no one knew what to do until she went to a naturopathic doctor.

He said to me, ‘Gisele, we have to change your diet,’ And I was like, ‘Diet? What does that have to do with panic attacks?’ And he’s like, ‘No, it has everything to do with it.’ Everything changed. I became a different person. I started practicing meditation. I started practicing yoga. I started practicing breath work. It was a long journey. Food for me is medicine.

The 43-year-old model now lives a very clean lifestyle. She avoids white sugar completely, calling it poison for your body. She likes to eat eggs in the morning or drink a smoothie with some almond paste to add in protein.

She also works out six days a week.

I love Pilates because I had back surgery three years ago and it helps with your core. I like exercise outside: surfing, swimming, horseback riding, volleyball. When I’m on holiday, I do more of that.

Look. We don’t disagree with her. Your diet and activity level can play a huge part in your overall health, but if you have an actual mental health problem, changing your diet won’t make it go away completely. Nothing beats good therapy.

The reason Gisele is going so hard on this food is medicine journey is because she’s promoting her new book: Nourish: Simple Recipes to Empower Your Body and Feed Your Soul: A Healthy Lifestyle Cookbook

Remember, everyone is always selling something!
