Christina Applegate Says She’s No Longer A Fan Of Living Due To Constant MS Battle
Christina Applegate has been struggling mightily for years now following her multiple sclerosis diagnosis. For those who don’t know, the disease targets the central nervous system. In some people, the symptoms are mild, but in others? It can have life-altering impacts.
And unfortunately, Applegate falls into the latter category.
During an interview on Jamie-Lynn Sigler’s “MeSsy” podcast, the 52-year-old ‘Dead to Me‘ actress admitted she’s been struggling with some major depression lately…
I’m in a depression right now, which I don’t think I’ve felt that for years. Like a real, f–k-it-all depression where it’s kind of scaring me, too, a little bit because it feels really fatalistic. I’m trapped in, like, this darkness right now that I haven’t felt [in], like, I don’t even know how long, probably 20-something years.
Apparently, this episode was recorded a few months back after Applegate made a surprise appearance at the 2024 Emmys. And even though she got a standing ovation from the crowd, attending the event was incredibly painful on her body. She revealed she spent the next two days sleeping.
This is being really honest … I don’t enjoy living. I don’t enjoy it. I don’t enjoy things anymore.
Geez. That’s tough to hear. Hopefully the disease eases up a little bit. You can have remission periods with MS, so it’s possible things get better for her in the future.
But for right now, things are hard. Our thoughts go out to her.
